Sustainability and Community
Our reason for existing is to serve the cycling commuters community. We therefore want to connect and grow our community. That is why we regularly publish blogposts aimed at providing tips and guidance for the cyclists, such as our London Cycle Superhighway guide series, and our explanations of bag waterproofing.
We strongly believe that cycling is both a healthy and environmentally friendly activity. As manufacturers of cycling gear we certainly do not want to be hypocritical and add to the world’s environmental problems. That is why we have a number of initiatives in our pipeline to reduce our environmental impacts, and we are taking a lead on environmentally friendly materials for cycling gear.
Right now, we are putting together our takeback and repair program, and we can’t wait to start. In the future, all Craft Cadence customers who would like to dispose their bags will be able to send them back to us for a voucher, and we will refurbish the product and resell them on our website, even if we don’t make a profit on the sale. We may make a loss but it’s still the right thing to do.
In 2019, we will be rolling out the first fully waterproof bag made from waste recycled PET bottles. These bags, alongside our takeback scheme, means no bags will ever have to end up in landfill and can be reused over and over again.
