How to measure

If you are in between measurements, it is always recommended to choose a size larger, as you can adjust the fit using the tightness using earloops and the provided head strap.  If you get different results from (A) and (B), use of the size according to (A).

Nose to chin (A)

Use a tape measure to measure from around 2.5 cm (1 inch) from the tip of your nose to 2.5cm (1 inch) under your chin

Nose to earlobe (B):

Use a tape measure to measure from the tip of your nose to your earlobe.

    Returns

    Unfortunately due to the nature of the product, we do not accept returns once the product has been unsealed and used. If you change your mind regarding an unsealed product with 30 days of receipt, we would be happy to process a full refund.  Customer will need to cover shipping fees back to us.  

    Customs duty

    Please note that Craft Cadence is not liable for payment of customs duty and VAT that is applicable in your country. No duties will be incurred for UK and EU customers, and none are expected to be applicable in the US.

    Will the size fit me?

    The mask comes in three size that will fit the vast majority of all adults (women and men). Follow our size guide to find the best fit for you.


    How often should I wash the mask?

    Frequency of washing depends on usage length and use case. If you are mainly using it outside then it can be washed once a week. It is recommended to have at least 2 masks to alternate between, to allow the masks to be properly sanitised between uses.

    How do I wash the mask?

    Please wash the mask in warm water at 60 degrees by hand, for at least 5 minutes. Please take care not to apply too much pressure to the nose wire or it will loosen up more easily. You may also let it soak in the warm water for an additional 5 minutes, then hang to dry. Please do not put it in the washing machine.

    How long does the mask last for?

    The mask can be washed up to 30 times and the filter can last up to 300 hours. Typically, this level of filtration will last 3-6 months depending on environment and intensity of use. Thereafter, you can continue to use the mask by inserting removable nanofiber filters. However, please note that these may not be as effective as the original sewn in filters, which are more tightly sealed to the user's face compared to removable filters.


    Will viruses still be able to pass through the 4 layers of the mask?

    No mask will provide 100% protection and this mask is not medical grade and not intended as replacements for the N99 respiratory masks. The outer layer will help to capture respiratory droplets and there is additional protection via the nanofiber filter. What cannot be guaranteed are the tiny airborne particles that are in the air in poorly ventilated indoor scenarios where there is a lot of shouting, singing, etc. This is an area of ongoing research where the WHO is still hesitant to provide official guidance even on the transmissibility of the virus. So that situation should be avoided altogether if the aim is to minimise risk of infection - such as going to concerts, singing classes, indoor religious gatherings, or any large indoor social situations.

    Where are the masks made?

    The masks are handmade in Yilan, Taiwan, by craftsmen with decades of experience.

    Craft Cadence Nanofiber Mask is the first mask in the world to combine Polygiene’s ViralOff® and Stays Fresh® technologies with a sewn in nanofiber filter that is certified to filter out 99% of particles at 0.3 microns (EN 149:2001 FFP3, equivalent to N99 rating)

    Antiviral and Anti-odor technology

    The outer layer of the mask is water repellent and treated with Polygiene ViralOff®. This is certified to reduce 99% of viruses (like hepatitus, Influenza, Corona) and other bacteria.


    ViralOff® treatment is a Swedish technology from Polygiene. Craft Cadence is entitled to use the ViralOff mark as we have licensed the technology. Polygiene has tested the active ingredient against Influenza A, BirdFlu, Norovirus and Corona (SARS) over the years, and in all cases, have achieved 99% levels of virus reduction. Recently, it has been tested and proven to be effective against SARS-CoV-2.

    The inner layers of the mask that touches your skin are treated with Polygiene Biostatic Stays Fresh® technology. This is certified antibacterial by IMSL (Industrial Microbiological Serives Ltd) to reduce 99% of odor causing bacteria.

    Stays Fresh® applies a natural silver salt (AgCl, silver chloride) treatment that stops and breaks down odor-causing bacteria and fungi that builds up in the material. This means less need for washing, reducing water, energy and carbon emissions.

    Filtration technology
    The inner layer of the mask is a sewn in nanofiber filter which has been certified by Microtest International (MTI) Technology Laboratory to filter out 99% (99.41%) of particles at 0.3 microns in accordance with EN 149:2001 FFP3 (for EU), equivalent to a NIOSH N99 rating (for North America).


    A full laboratory test result is available upon request by emailing info@craftcadence.com. An internal wash test of the filter material showed a reduction of filtration efficiency by 0.2% after 5 washes.


    Nanofiber filters have been found to be superior to melt blown filters at retaining filtration efficiency. In a study by Ullah et al, researchers applied an ethanol solution to sterilise masks with Nanofiber and melt-blown filters. The nanofiber filter was able to retain much of its filtration efficiency at 98% even after 10 rounds of spraying cycles using an ethanol solution. By contrast, the melt-blown fabric began at a higher filtration efficacy rate of 99%, but that dropped to 62% after 10 spraying cycles.     Fit and comfort
    Craft Cadence Nanofiber Mask has been thoughtfully designed to maximise fit, breathability and comfort, while minimising leakage:
    - A wider design than most masks, allowing the mask to fit the contours of the users face and to minimise leakage on the sides
    - A chin wrap for a secure and comfortable fit around the bottom of the user's face, again minimising leakage through the bottom. No more mask slipping.
    - A long metal nose wire to stop glasses fogging up
    - An adjustable earloop and soft earloop material for comfort around the user's ears

    To further remove strain around the user's ears, a head strap is included which can position the tension to the back of the user's head.
